2. Data We Collect

SimpleTranscribe is designed with privacy in mind. We minimize the data we collect:

• Audio Recordings: Audio is processed locally on your device or sent to the API provider you choose (e.g., OpenAI) based on your settings.
• Transcriptions: Text generated from your audio is stored locally on your device.
• Usage Data: We do not track individual usage data. Anonymous crash reports may be sent to Apple if you have opted in to share analytics.

3. Audio Processing & AI

You have control over how your audio is processed:

• Local Processing: When using on-device models, your audio never leaves your device.
• Third-Party APIs: If you configure the app to use third-party services (like OpenAI) for higher accuracy or summarization, audio/text data is sent directly from your device to that provider. We do not act as a middleman and do not see this data. Please refer to the privacy policy of the API provider you choose.

4. Data Storage

All recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are stored locally on your iOS device. We do not maintain a cloud server for user data storage.
